01 Edit a paid order
A paid order can change until it has all shipped. On the order page, press “Edit order”. Units already shipped, refunded or returned are never touched.
Type a new “Quantity” on a line, find a product to add, or add a “Custom line” for a fee. The shipping stays as charged unless you change it.
Tick “Email the customer a summary of the change” to tell them. “Review changes” then shows the subtotal, discount, shipping, tax and total, before and after.
A dearer order is not charged: the difference is owed, and with Stripe connected the customer gets a link to pay it by card. A cheaper one is refunded the difference.
Nothing is saved until you press “Confirm edit”. The order then shows any “Balance due”, and every edit is listed under “Edits” and in the audit log.
02 After an edit
A custom line can go in the box too. Tick “Goes in the parcel (printed on the packing slip)” for a made-to-order piece or an insert. A fee or a service is never printed.
In their account, the customer sees the order as it is now: new quantities, your custom lines, the new total, and any balance under “Still to pay”, with a button to pay it.
Their receipt prints the same lines and total, what they paid and any balance due. Packing slips and pick lists show only what is still to ship.
If a refund for an edit is cut off part way, the edit shows “Refund in progress”. After 15 minutes BestWebby checks what happened, and never refunds twice.
Money that went is marked “Refunded”. If none went, it tries once more. If it cannot tell, it stops and tells you within the hour, so you can check Stripe first.
03 Refund chosen items
To refund particular items, press “Refund” on the order. Under “Items to refund (optional)”, enter how many of each, and tick “Refund the shipping” to give that back too.
The amount fills itself in: the price of those units, less their share of the discount, plus their share of the tax. You can type a different amount instead.
Units not shipped yet are ticked to go back in stock, where they came from, and no longer ship. Shipped units are not ticked: tick only if they came back to you.
A return you receive restocks on its own, so do not do both. Units refunded without restocking are written off, and the order shows how many were refunded and restocked.
Press “Issue refund”. Each item refunds only up to what was ordered and the shipping only once, and two people cannot refund the same units twice.
04 Edit a draft order
In “Draft orders”, a draft you have not sent yet has “Edit”. The composer opens with everything you entered, each line at the price it was drafted at.
Change what you need and press “Save changes”. Discount, shipping and tax are priced again, like a new draft, and the days its link can be paid count again from that day.
Once a draft is sent, the customer may already be paying it, so it can no longer be edited: cancel it and create a new one.
That completes the course. Every chapter links to its manual page, for when you want more detail.

Cochez « Email the customer a summary of the change » pour l’informer.
