Limiting a promotion or a discount code to the online store, the register or chosen locations, previewing a sale by channel and location, what shoppers are told online, and promotions and codes at the till.

Transcript
01 Online, in store or both
A promotion says where it can be used. Open one in “Promotions” and find “Where it can be used”, below the offer.
Choose the “Sales channel”: “Online store and in store”, “Online store only” or “In store only (point of sale)”. A new promotion starts online only.
In store only never shows or applies online: not in the cart, not at checkout and not to shopping agents. At the register it applies by itself, or with its code.
02 Chosen locations
Then tick the “Locations” it is limited to, from Settings → Locations. With none ticked, it works at every location and on every online order.
At a ticked location, register sales get it, and online orders only when picked up there. Shipped orders never get it.
A register’s location is the one its store “Sells stock from” in POS setup. The list shows each limit beside the offer, such as “In store only”.
03 Preview a sale
“Preview” prices a sample cart before any shopper sees it. Under “Sold”, choose “Online” or “At the register”, then the location.
It shows the subtotal, the discount and the total after discount for that sale. When nothing applies because it is limited to another channel or location, it says so.
04 What shoppers are told
A shopper who types an in-store code online is told “This code can be used in store only.”
A code limited to locations works online only for pickup at one of them. Typed for a shipped order, it says “This code applies only to orders picked up at participating stores.”
If the shopper chose pickup, entered such a code and then switched to shipping, checkout says why and charges nothing until they continue without it.
05 Promotions and codes at the till
At the register, every active promotion that includes it applies by itself, at the register’s store. The cashier types a code in “Discount code (optional)”.
Before you charge, the till lists each promotion by name with its saving, the code’s saving and any points, and the receipt shows the discount.
A code that earns nothing is refused with the reason, such as “This code cannot be used at this location.”, and the till does not charge until you remove it.
06 Older discount codes
In “Discount codes (legacy)”, the “Where” column shows where each code can be used. The store button beside a code sets the same channel and locations.
Codes your automations create work online only. Create new offers in “Promotions”.
That completes the course. Every chapter links to its manual page, for when you want more detail.

01 En ligne, en magasin ou les deux
Une promotion indique où elle s’applique. Ouvrez-en une dans « Promotions » et trouvez « Where it can be used », sous l’offre.
Choisissez le « Sales channel » : « Online store and in store », « Online store only » ou « In store only (point of sale) ».
Sous « Sold », choisissez « Online » ou « At the register », puis l’emplacement.
Un client qui saisit en ligne un code réservé au magasin voit « This code can be used in store only. »
Pour une commande expédiée, il indique « This code applies only to orders picked up at participating stores. »
This code cannot be used at this location.
