01 What the chat knows

Your storefront chat, on every plan, answers shoppers only from facts you gave it. Open it from Channels, and you land on your site’s “Knowledge base”.

Press “Add entry”, give it a “Title” and the “Details” in plain words, such as your shipping times, and press “Save”. The chat quotes it back as it is.

Your store’s pages are read in too, under “Crawled entries”, and refreshed once a day. “Recrawl now” reads them again straight away.

02 Switch it on

Your products answer for themselves. When a shopper asks about price or stock, both are read from your catalogue at that moment, never from a saved number.

Press “Turn chat on”. With no entries at all, you are asked first, because every question would come straight to you.

A question it cannot answer is recorded once, however it is worded, and you are alerted. Answer it in Shopper chat: it reaches the shoppers who asked, and becomes an entry.

03 The call assistant

The “Call assistant” is rolling out on the Scale plan. Once BestWebby’s phone service is connected and your store has a number, it answers calls to that number.

It tells callers it is automated, answers short questions, reads an order’s status only to a caller phoning from the number on that order, and puts them through or takes a voicemail.

Every call lands in your Inbox with a summary. Until the assistant can answer, the page lists what is missing, each with a link to fix it.

04 Greeting and test

Write the “Greeting” callers hear first, and press “Save greeting”. The assistant then tells them it is automated.

“Test the assistant” works today: type what a caller might say, press “Test” and read the reply they would hear. No call is placed.

05 Outbound calls

“Turn on automated calling for this store” is a separate switch, off by default, for order follow-ups, appointment reminders and win-back calls.

Each customer must have agreed to automated calls separately. Every call is checked again just before it goes out, and “Outbound call history” shows each one placed or refused.

Calls are paid from your store’s prepaid Phone and SMS credit. Next: approvals and smart suggestions.

02 L’activer
