01 Start a stock count

To check what is really on the shelves, open “Inventory”, then “Counts”, and click “New count”. Pick the location and what to count: everything, or a part at a time.

“Start counting” takes a snapshot of that location. Scan into the scan box or use “Scan with camera”. Each scan adds one, or a whole case with “Units per scan”.

Several people can count at once, on phones or computers. Every scan adds to the line, each line shows who counted it last, and the screen never shows the expected numbers.

02 Review and apply a count

When the shelves are done, click “Finish and review”. Counting stops while you review, and “Back to counting” reopens it if something was missed.

Each line shows what was expected, what sold or moved since, what was counted and the “Difference”, in units and “At cost”. Sales made after a shelf was counted are kept.

For lines nobody counted, choose “Leave their stock unchanged” or “Treat them as counted at 0”. “Apply count” turns each difference into a stock adjustment, once.

03 Transfer lines and serial numbers

Until a transfer ships, “Edit lines” changes a quantity, removes a line or adds a product. Adding one that is already on it adds to its quantity.

For a product tracked by serial number, “Ship” asks you to tick the units going in the box. “Pick the first” ticks the oldest, and a scanner can type a code into the search.

At “Receive”, untick any serial number that is not in the box. Those units stay in transit until they arrive, or until you write them off.

With EasyPost connected, BestWebby follows the tracking number and shows the carrier’s status on the transfer, such as “Out for delivery”, and the expected date when there is one.

A “Delivered” parcel never adds stock by itself: count what arrived and receive it. Without EasyPost, the tracking number is kept as you typed it and not followed.

04 Zones by province or state

A shipping zone can now cover part of Canada or the United States. Edit a zone, pick “Canada” under “Countries”, then the “Provinces and territories” it covers.

Picking none covers the whole country, as every zone did before. Here a Territories zone takes Nunavut, Yukon and the Northwest Territories, beside a Canada zone.

Checkout picks the zone by province first, then the whole country, then “Rest of world”. Iqaluit gets the Territories rates, and Toronto the Canada rates.

Once a country is split, a delivery there needs its province, and an agent or API order without one is refused. Check each zone with “Province or territory” in the “Test calculator”.

05 Shipping classes

Some products cost more to send. On the “Classes” tab of “Shipping”, click “Add class” and name it, such as Oversized. Only the store owner can add or change classes.

Put products in it in the product editor under “Shipping class”, or select many in the product list and click “Shipping class” in the bar.

Then edit each rate under “Zones & methods”. For each class, choose “Same rate”, “Add per order”, “Add per item” or “Not offered”.

A cart with two classes pays both surcharges, on top of what the rate charges. A rate that is “Not offered” for a class is left out of any cart holding it.

Products with no class pay exactly as before; try a cart in the “Test calculator” with “Shipping class in the cart”. Next: gift receipts, reader screens and collection filters.

Pour les lignes non comptées, choisissez « Leave their stock unchanged » ou « Treat them as counted at 0 ».

Pour chaque classe, choisissez « Same rate », « Add per order », « Add per item » ou « Not offered ».
