Transcript
01 Gift receipts at the till
After a sale at the till, “Gift receipt” prints a receipt to go with a present: the items and quantities, with no prices, totals, tax or payment details.
To email it instead, for example to the person the gift is for, tick “Send a gift receipt (no prices)” and type their address in “Email the receipt to”.
With a “Return window (days)” on the products, it shows a return-by date; a final-sale item says “Final sale”. Later, open the sale in “Orders” and click “Gift receipt”.
02 Returns with a gift receipt
When a gift comes back, click “Return” on the till and scan the barcode on the gift receipt, or type its receipt number, to find the sale.
Pick the items coming back and tick “Returned with a gift receipt”. The refund then defaults to “Store credit”, because the person returning the gift did not pay for it.
The store-credit code is handed to them, and is not added to the buyer’s customer record or emailed to the buyer. You can still choose the original payment instead.
03 The cart on the reader’s screen
A card reader with its own screen, the Stripe Reader S700 or S710 or the BBPOS WisePOS E, can show the customer the cart while you ring it up.
Pair it with a register: in “POS setup” under “Settings”, find the reader under “Card readers” and pick its register. Each register can have one reader.
The screen shows each item with its price and quantity, any points discount, shipping, tip, tax and the total, as the till charges them. It clears when the sale ends.
If the reader cannot be reached, the sale carries on, and the display never interrupts a card payment in progress. Readers without a screen show nothing.
04 Filters on collection pages
On your store, each collection’s page now has “Filters” and “Sort by”, as your products page does, but only within the collection.
Shoppers filter by “Category”, “Brand”, “Availability”, “Price” and option values such as size, each with its count of products.
The brand filter appears once the products come from two brands or more. It reads each product’s Brand field exactly as typed, so Acme and ACME are two brands.
“Sort by” offers “Newest”, “Price: low to high” and “Price: high to low”. “Featured”, the default, is your own order, with pinned products first.
A filtered page keeps its choices in its web address, so it can be shared, and tells search engines to list the collection’s own address.
Next: delivery notes, gift messages and browse reminders.

« Sort by » propose « Newest », « Price: low to high » et « Price: high to low ».
