Payments & fraud
Your gateway. Your funds. Our cut is zero.
BestWebby never processes your customers' payments. You connect your own gateway, the charge is made on your account, and the money is already yours when it lands. On Growth and above, orders are scored for risk on the way through — and we still never touch the payment.
Taking payment on your own gateway is on every plan · risk scoring and holds are on Growth and above

How the money works
Most platforms take a slice. We take none.
A percentage on top of what your processor already charges is the normal cost of running a shop on someone else's platform. It is not a cost here, because the charge happens on your account rather than ours.
- The charge is made on your account
- You connect your own Stripe account and the payment is taken on it. The money never routes through us on the way to you, and you remain merchant of record for the sale.
- Nothing per order, channel or register
- One platform subscription, priced by tier rather than by volume: the storefront, every register and the whole dashboard are covered, and selling more does not quietly cost more. What a tier includes is set out on the pricing page — nothing is billed per sale.
- Your processing rate stays your business
- Whatever rate you negotiated with your processor is the rate you pay. We do not mark it up, because we are not standing in the payment path to mark anything up.

Card processing is billed by your own processor at your own rate. We do not mark it up and we do not add a platform fee on top of it.
Gateways
Stripe today, and an honest list of the rest.
Stripe is connected and live. Everything below it is on the roadmap and labelled as such, because finding out at migration time is worse than reading it here.

Whichever gateway you connect, the model does not change: the charge is made on your account and BestWebby adds nothing to it.
Order risk
Explainable scoring, and you still make the call.
Orders are scored from 0 to 100 by a deterministic rules engine — no black-box model, no per-order cost, and a score you can trace back to the signals that produced it.
Five signals combine, and a review hold needs more than one of them to corroborate, so a single unusual detail never blocks a good customer. Orders crossing your threshold are marked for review; the rest pass straight through to fulfilment. Risk scoring and holds come with the Growth plan and above.
A hold pauses fulfilment and waits for you. It does not cancel the order, refund the customer, or make any other decision on your behalf.
Signals weighed per order
- Unusually high order value
- Missing shipping address on an online order
- Orders placed in the small hours, between 1 and 4am
- Large total quantity in a single order
- Bulk quantity of one product
The same rules run on every order, so two identical orders always score the same.
Recurring revenue
Subscriptions on the gateway you already connected.
Any product can become a subscription, and the recurring charges run on your own Stripe account exactly like every other sale. Subscriptions are on the Growth plan and above.
Recurring billing
Turn a product into a subscription with a discount, then watch MRR, active subscribers and churn in one place. Failed payments go through dunning instead of silently lapsing.
- Subscribe & Save on any product in the catalogue
- MRR, active subscribers and churn on one dashboard
- Customer portal for pause, skip and cancel
- Saved-card off-session charges each period
- Dunning and retries when a payment fails
- Runs on your own connected Stripe account
Buy now, pay later
Klarna and Clearpay are on the roadmap rather than in the product. When they ship, qualifying orders will show pay-later options at checkout and settlement will go to your own gateway, as everything else does.
- Klarna — planned
- Clearpay — planned
- No merchant credit risk
- Settlement to your own gateway
Listed here so the roadmap is legible, not to imply it is available today.
Zero added transaction fees, on your own gateway.
Connect the Stripe account you already have and keep every point of margin you negotiated. The platform earns from the subscription, not from your sales.
