Image Studio: Edit, Brand and Generate Product Photos
Editing, branding and campaign tools for every product photo, plus generated lifestyle scenes, A/B variants, social posts and SEO text — billed only where they use a paid image model.
Overview
The photo tools are on every plan; the paid tools are billed from your prepaid credit, whatever your plan.
Open Image Studio from any product's photo grid on the product edit page (the palette button on a photo). It has two kinds of tools:
- Included tools — enhance, watermark, remove background, shadow, brand kit, seasonal styling, recolor, infographic, platform sizes, social posts and a short video ad. These run on our own servers and never draw down any credit.
- Paid tools — lifestyle scenes and A/B variants, which use an image-generation model and are billed from your prepaid Photo Studio credit.
Everything the studio makes for a product is kept on that product under Marketing assets (see below), so closing the studio never loses your work.
The included tools
- Enhance — brightness, contrast, colour and sharpness in one step.
- Remove background — a clean cut-out with a transparent background. It keeps white and light-coloured products intact on a white photo.
- Shadow — a soft shadow in the shape of the product, offset behind it.
- Watermark — your store name (or your saved logo) in a corner, in the centre, or repeated across the image for real protection. The text is sized to the photo and outlined, so it shows on light and dark photos alike.
- Brand kit — adds a band in your brand colour with your store name above or below the photo.
- Seasonal — adds a campaign band (Holiday, Valentine's, Halloween, Summer, Black Friday, New Year) below the photo.
- Infographic — puts a "Key features" panel beside the photo, filled from the product's specifications.
- Recolor — a quick colour variant of the photo.
- Platform sizes — exports the photo at the standard sizes for Instagram, Facebook, X, Pinterest, TikTok, WhatsApp, Amazon, eBay and Etsy in one step.
- Video ad — a 5-second square clip with a gentle zoom: your product, its name, its price and a call to action on a band in your brand colour.
None of these tools ever draw anything over the product itself: bands and panels are added around the photo, and the product is never cropped.
Social post generator
Builds ready-to-post Instagram (square) and Facebook (landscape) graphics: the whole product on a clean card, with your headline and price beside or below it. Included — no credit needed. To post it, use the product's Social section or Marketing → Social.
Lifestyle scenes and A/B variants (paid)
Lifestyle scene places your actual product photo into a setting you describe (for example "a marble bathroom vanity in morning light"), keeping the product's shape, colours and printed text. A/B variants makes three versions in different settings so you can test which one sells better.
Each image is drawn from your Photo Studio credit — check and top it up at Settings → Photo Studio credit. The price per image is shown before it's charged, and you are only charged for an image that was actually made: a failed attempt costs nothing. With no credit, the request is refused rather than queued.
SEO metadata tool
Suggests a title, alt text and description for a product photo, to help it get found in search and meet accessibility rules. Each store has a daily allowance; past it, each call is billed at a platform-set price from the same credit, and you're shown the price first.
Marketing assets
Every product has a Marketing assets section on its edit page listing what the studio made for it — social posts, watermarked and seasonal versions, platform sizes, video ads and generated scenes — newest first, filterable by type. For each one you can open it full size, copy its link (for an ad manager, a marketplace or a message), add it to the product photos, or remove it from the list. Removing it from the list does not delete the file, because a post may already link to it.
Good to know
- Lifestyle scenes, A/B variants and the SEO-text overage share one prepaid wallet (Settings → Photo Studio credit) but are priced separately — topping up covers all three.
- The included tools never need credit. Each store can run the studio up to 40 times an hour, counting every tool.
- A photo larger than 4,096 pixels on its longer side is scaled down to that before a tool runs, and background removal works on at most 2,048 pixels.
