Loyalty Points and the VIP Club

Reward customers with points they can spend on rewards you approve, and tag your best customers as VIPs for campaigns, segments and promotions.

Overview

Customers → Loyalty runs a points programme: customers earn points when they buy, and spend them on rewards you have approved. Customers → VIP club tags the customers who buy most often, so you can treat them differently.

Loyalty and the VIP club are on the Growth plan and above.

Step 1: Set how points are earned

On Customers → Loyalty, set Points earned per unit spent: how many points a customer earns for each whole unit of your currency on a paid order. Set it to 0 to stop earning. Points are added once per order, when the order is paid. At the till, a sale earns points when a customer is attached to it.

Step 2: Create rewards

Click New reward type and choose what members can spend their points on:

Reward typeWhat the member gets
Discount %A percentage off.
Fixed discountAn amount off.
Store creditCredit on their account.
Product rewardA product at no charge.
Shipping rewardShipping at no charge.

Give it a name, a value and the Min points required.

Step 3: Approve each reward

A new reward waits in Pending approval and no one can redeem it until you approve it. Approve it to make it live, and revoke it at any time. Approved & live shows what members can redeem today.

How members redeem

Members see their balance and the rewards they can afford in their account on your storefront, and redeem from there. At the till, a cashier can see the attached customer's points.

Leaderboard ranks your members by points.

The VIP club

  1. Go to Customers → VIP club and open Club settings.
  2. Set the Minimum orders a customer needs to count as a VIP and the Club tag name.
  3. Click Sync tags now. Every customer who qualifies gets the tag, and anyone who no longer qualifies loses it.

The tag works everywhere tags work. Under Reward them you can go straight to a VIP-only campaign, a discount code, a promotion for the segment, or the segment itself.
