Live Studio: Live Shopping Broadcasts
Go live from your browser with your camera and microphone, pin products viewers can buy while they watch, and read their chat.
Overview
Channels → Live Studio broadcasts live video from your browser. Viewers watch on a public page, see the products you pin with a Buy now button, and chat with each other while you talk. Your storefront lists the stream at /live while it is on air.
Live Studio is part of the Growth plan and above. Going live needs the owner, admin or manager role.
Go live
- Go to Channels → Live Studio.
- Give the stream a title, for example "Friday new arrivals". Viewers see it on the watch page.
- Pin up to three products: search under Pin products to stream and click a product. Pinning a fourth unpins the oldest. Click a pinned product again, or its x, to unpin it.
- Click Go live and allow your browser to use the camera and microphone.
Once you are live, Share link copies the address of the watch page. The Mic on and Camera on buttons switch your microphone and camera off and on during the stream.
You can pin and unpin products while you are live; viewers see the change straight away. While live, the studio shows Live viewers, Time on air and the Live chat.
What viewers see
Viewers open the watch page from your share link, or from your storefront's /live page, which lists streams that are on air (for up to four hours after they start) with their pinned products. They need no account.
On the watch page they see and hear you, the products you pinned with their prices and a Buy now button that opens the product on your store in a new tab, and the live chat, where they can type a message under a name of their choice. Shoppers buy through your normal checkout, so their orders appear in Orders like any other. The studio does not count orders: a purchase happens in the shop, not in the stream, so check Orders after the stream.
Your storefront does not link to /live by itself: add it to your menu when you go live regularly (see Pages, menus and redirects).
End the stream
Click End stream. The broadcast stops, your camera and microphone are released, and the stream comes off your storefront's /live page. Leaving the studio, or closing the tab, ends the stream too; BestWebby asks you to confirm first.
Nothing is recorded: when the stream ends, it is gone.
Common questions
Can I schedule a stream in advance? Not from the studio. A stream is listed when you go live.
Can I reply in the chat? The studio shows the chat; answer viewers out loud on the stream.
What if the stream cannot start? The studio says so and keeps your camera preview on. Check that your browser may use the camera and microphone, and that your network allows video calls, then click Go live again.
Why is my stream not on my storefront's live page? If the studio says "You're live, but this stream couldn't be listed on your storefront's live page", share the link instead: viewers can still join.
