Shop Health: Your Store's Score Out of 100

What the eight shop health checks look at, how many points each is worth, and what to do about the ones that are not passing.

Overview

Home → Shop health gives your store a score out of 100 from eight checks on your catalog, reviews and sales. It is on every plan. A score of 70 or more reads Excellent, 40 to 69 Needs attention, and under 40 Poor.

Each check shows the points it earned out of its maximum, and a check that is not passing says what to do. The same suggestions are listed together under Actionable improvements. The figures are worked out each time you open the page.

The checks

CheckPointsPasses when
Active products listed15You have at least 5 active products. Each one counts 3 points until then.
Products have photos15Every active product has a photo. Points are in proportion to how many do.
Products have descriptions10Every active product has a description; an empty one does not count. Points are in proportion.
Customer reviews20You have at least 5 approved reviews. Each one counts 4 points until then.
Average rating 4+15Your approved reviews average 4 stars or more. Below that, points are in proportion to the average.
Recent sales activity10At least 3 paid orders were placed in the last 30 days. Each one counts 3 points until then.
Responding to reviews5No review is waiting for you to approve or reject it.
Storefront live10At least one of your storefronts under Channels → Sites is live.

The cards at the top show your number of approved reviews, their average rating (a dash until the first one is approved), and your paid orders in the last 30 days.

Good to know

  • Only active products are counted; drafts and archived products are not.
  • Recent sales activity counts paid orders: processing, shipped, delivered, completed and ready for pickup. Cancelled, refunded and unpaid orders do not count, and neither do the sample orders that come with sample data.
  • Storefront live passes only once a storefront is live. A storefront that exists but is not live yet earns nothing; to see what still stands between you and going live, see Going live.
  • A rating check with no reviews yet earns no points; collecting reviews (see Review requests) lifts both review checks.
